In a society focused on “the user pays” those who derive the benefits of participation are required to bear the cost. While government takes some responsibility in support of the arts; competition is fierce for sparse funds. Industry too contributes, but when the economy is unstable, even the best corporate citizens are apt to withdraw from sponsorship in order to focus on their shareholders. Individual patronage has been the  mainstay of cultural and artistic pursuits thought history and never before has been more important.

A primary source of support comes from dues paying members and private donations.

 Financial support, from music lovers like you, help keep music alive for our players as well as you, our audience. With cuts in financial support, ever a threat, in all areas of our lives, it is amazing that at every turn someone is starting a new cultural organization or performing group. Music is the most satisfying, healthful, and creative activity that anyone can occupy him/herself with. The physical, mental, and social part of music is the best rejuvenating activity anyone can do. Musicians do live longer and happier! Over the more than 40 years that the Queens Festival Orchestra/Forest Hills Symphony Orchestra has been in existence, the number of people who have looked forward to the weekly meetings to rehearse overtures and symphonies is staggering. From the age of 8 through 94, we have fulfilled that desire. Help us to continue that service.
