outreach and educational programs, the orchestra establishes important
links among professional musicians, amateur musicians, music students
and the community at large.
Since our founding in 1964,
our members have crossed all age and ethnic lines, and all occupations
from professional to student to retiree. We offer members a chance to give
solo performance es before looking outside the organization. We offer adults
of varying musical abilities a place to improve their skills and create
music within a positive social experience, that of community service. To
this end we donate numerous concert tickets to local senior citizen organization,
and agencies for the disabled. Two of our musicians have severe vision
impairment.
Our mission is to make music:
by our community and for our community.
